Lefty, an influencer marketing platform, published a Sports Industry Report back in March, which reveals that Formula 1 is the second fastest-growing sport, with a +34% year-over-year growth in 2023, totaling $128M in Earned Media Value (EMV). Luxury fashion brands are contributing $18.8M to this EMV!
The sport’s global expansion is largely due to media partnerships, including a +28% increase in U.S. viewership on ESPN in 2022 and Netflix's TV series Drive to Survive.
Social media changes and cross-sector investments further enhance F1's visibility, with drivers themselves notably influencing luxury brand media value. Here are some statistics:
