• Minimize distractions: use focus-enhancing apps that block non-essential notifications and provide task reminders to keep you on track

• Create a dedicated workspace: set up a specific area in your house for work to create a clear boundary between your professional and personal life; if working from home isn't ideal, consider spending time in a café or a co-working space

Lefty, an influencer marketing platform, published a Sports Industry Report back in March, which reveals that Formula 1 is the second fastest-growing sport, with a +34% year-over-year growth in 2023, totaling $128M in Earned Media Value (EMV). Luxury fashion brands are contributing $18.8M to this EMV!

The sport’s global expansion is largely due to media partnerships, including a +28% increase in U.S. viewership on ESPN in 2022 and Netflix's TV series Drive to Survive.

Did you know that before coming to Formula 1, drivers have to pay to participate in each previous season?

Competing in a full season of F4, F3, and F2 involves significant financial commitments for drivers.

Based on different sources such as statistics, drivers themselves, and professionals from the industry, here is a little summary for you:

• Formula 4: Costs typically range from $400,000 to $600,000 per season.

• Formula 3: The expenses increase to between $600,000 and $1,700,000. This higher cost reflects advanced car technology. Additionally, the more famous and developed the team is, the more expensive the entry fees.

• Formula 2: As a direct path to Formula 1, F2 costs are the highest, ranging from $1,500,000 to $3,000,000 per season.

• Catch up on races and highlights: Missed any races? Now’s the time to catch up on those moments, rewatch your favorite ones, or watch the ones you've never seen before

• Explore other motorsport series like the FIA TCR World Tour, MotoGP, Super GT, Superbike, and many others! You might discover a new passion out there!

• Discover motorsport documentaries and shows: Explore the world of motorsports through documentaries and series, whether it's about legendary drivers, classic Formula One races, or even YouTube documentaries. These behind-the-scenes glimpses offer insight into the teams, drivers, and the intense environment of the sport

• Engage with the motorsport community: Join social media groups or local fan clubs. Discussing races, predictions, and favorite teams with other fans can be a fun way to stay connected to the sport.

Have you ever dreamed of experiencing the thrill of a Formula 1 race without spending any money? Look no further! In this newsletter, we've revealed the secrets to getting into motorsports events for free. Get ready to make your motorsport dreams come true!

1. Volunteer

Volunteering opportunities often arise from circuits. Google “volunteer” and the circuit or Grand Prix you want to participate in. For instance, “volunteer Baku GP”. Keep in mind that for some events, proficiency in the country's language and demonstrable experience may be required. And even tho volunteering can be a great way to attend races for free, it’s challenging to secure a position if you’ve never worked at a track before. Start gaining experience well in advance by talking to your local motorsport places. Offer to help out at smaller races—local events often need volunteers. If there’s no circuit around, check karting or even moto shops. Helping out in these areas can open doors and surround you with people who are passionate about motorsport.

2. Content Creation

While this approach requires time and effort, it can be rewarding. If you love motorsport and enjoy talking about it, consider creating content for different social media. Many content creators are invited to events these days. Even if your current followers aren’t motorsport fans, you can contact teams and explain how your audience could benefit them. Also, smaller teams in different areas of motorsport, especially those with less than 10,000 followers on their accounts, might appreciate your offer to create content for them and invite you to races. Just reach out and ask!

3. Press Credentials

If you work in media, consider how attending races could benefit your job. The media is the most logical route for securing credentials, even if you represent a small media outlet. Contact the press service of the circuit or the specific team you are interested in well in advance to inquire about obtaining press passes.

4. Other Work Credentials

Remember, the motorsport industry is diverse, with opportunities in finance, logistics, photography, HR, and more. Similar to media work, consider how your current job could align with motorsport. Develop a plan to show your boss how attending races could be beneficial for your role. Additionally, reach out to F1 companies or circuits to demonstrate how your professional skills could help both parties.

5. Participate in Contests

Though it might seem random, participating in contests can get you race access. For Formula 1 free passes, engage in games like F1 Fantasy or F1 Play and other contests from official team websites. For example, MoneyGram and Haas currently have a contest open until June 23rd. Subscribe to team updates and keep an eye out for similar opportunities. Many teams have internal bonus programs, such as the Oracle Red Bull Racing Paddock or the Williams Grid Pass. Look for other bonus programs from your favorite teams and subscribe to participate in all of them.

Examples of past contests to keep an eye out for: Williams Racing x Vegas VIP Package, Miami x Williams VIP experience, Win Paddock Club for the Bahrain Grand Prix, Miami Grand Prix as VIP guests of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team, Grandstand tickets for Las Vegas Grand Prix.

6. Collaborate with Brands

Brands often collaborate with fans and influencers for promotional activities. By partnering with relevant brands, you can secure access to races as part of an advertising deal. See which brands are collaborating with different teams and tracks, write to some of them, and find out if they have volunteer positions available.

People complain that previously, information was more focused on performance and analytics, whereas now it's centered on drivers' pictures and other interests. I don't necessarily view this shift as a negative thing. However, I believe there should be a balanced approach to cater to all segments of the motorsport community: those who prefer more entertaining and personal content and those who enjoy analytical insights.

Moreover, attracting new fans introduces a fresh audience to the sport. We witness numerous memes and content created by younger fans online, including bracelets, video edits, and artworks, all contributing to shaping this new era of the sport. Social media serves as a platform to draw in even more followers. Influencers with millions of followers are often invited to races, presenting the show in their unique format, thus appealing directly to their audience. This represents a novel approach to attracting a wider audience!

Ultimately, these two aspects allow you to create a personal brand for each driver and the community around him and his team. Undoubtedly, this new era of social media means a different approach to content creation. Even if the audiences of TikTok and Instagram do not overlap, then even more so, they will be even more different audiences from those who read the newsletter or watch other forms of content, like YouTube and so on!

One notable issue is when teams themselves become more like fan accounts, posting thirst traps of drivers. While connecting with a younger audience is crucial, maintaining an informative focus is equally important.

On the other hand, a good example can be the use of entertaining references; for instance, posts referencing “The Hunger Games” during the Las Vegas Grand Prix resembled the tributes' parade, and images with Taylor Swift's new album work well, as they draw attention to cultural references without overdoing it.

Pros:

• Better understanding of driver personalities

• Attracting new sponsors

• Improved connection with fans and understanding what they want

Cons:

• Alienating other generations of drivers

• Making the sport overly personalized (intruding into personal lives)

In conclusion, I definitely don’t think that social media is running the sport. I believe it's essential to strike a balance between developing new strategies, and the question of how to build the right community. I think there's still much to learn and explore

To be consistent means being able to do the same thing or work on the same task repeatedly.

They say:

“If you want to grow your social media platform, post X times daily”.

“If you want to learn a new language, you must take N classes weekly”.

The problem with all these Xs and Ns is that some people don't realize consistency isn't just about reaching something but also being able to maintain it. If you run every day to prepare for a 10k marathon at the end of the month but then never run again, you'll lose the fitness you worked so hard to build! And of course, if your goal was just to complete the marathon, that's fine, but if you want to develop endurance, that’s very different.

Another issue is that when you hear advice like “post 10 times per day on TikTok to grow,” isn't it overwhelming to even start with? You create your own consistency based on what you have on your hands and what you want to achieve.

Consider networking as an example: people talk a lot about it, but it doesn’t mean just connecting with five people on LinkedIn every day! It also means talking with them online and offline, interacting with their posts, meeting at events, etc. So you focus not just on numbers but on the quality of those connections! That's what consistency is about!

One other thing about consistency is not to expect quick results. Many of us want immediate outcomes when we start something. I have a big problem with that myself! I want to start something and be perfect at it right away; otherwise, I don't want to do it at all. But to achieve any result, you have to take small steps every day, even if they seem unimportant. If you want to be a published writer, you must write regularly and persistently!

That's where some people fall behind—working on the same thing over and over without seeing immediate results is upsetting. But you will stand out if you keep working. Your quality will improve over time, your understanding will deepen, and everything will fall into place. The secret is that there is no right formula for everyone, and if someone tells you there is, run away. It's going to be different for each of us.

It will take time to find a job, make a friend, or become better at something. Do not give up!

Here is some advice to sum up:

• Find your own rhythm with the task you are doing;

• It is not just about doing the task but also about the quality of it;

• Be patient with yourself and give yourself some time: the more you do, the better you get with time

"Just do it" is the simplest yet most effective piece of advice I've ever received…

I know. I can already picture you rolling your eyes at this one! I understand how annoying this advice can be, and you're probably hating it. But believe me, it's true!

Fear of rejection has often held me back, causing me to avoid situations where it could occur altogether.

For instance, there was a time when I hesitated to apply for a student exchange program because I doubted my abilities. However, urged by a friend just two days before the deadline, I applied and was accepted! Similarly, when a university rejected my application, I felt crushed. However, with encouragement from the same friend, I reached out to inquire about the decision. It turned out there was a document mix-up. While I still wasn't accepted, my proactive approach led to an interview opportunity! And even now, I'm writing this newsletter because I forced myself to ask people about different opportunities!

So, go ahead and invite that person for a coffee, post that video, send that email, or pose that question that has been on your mind!

The worst outcome is a simple “no,” which leaves the situation unchanged.

However, by not trying, we deny ourselves any chance of success at all!

During my lowest moments, I often forget this lesson. So, consider this a reminder for both you and me: Just go and do it!

What a crazy weekend for McLaren drivers! Lando Norris secured his first Formula 1 victory after six years, with 16 podium finishes and 110 races. On the same day earlier, Bianca Bustamante got her first podium in the F1 Academy!

Both drivers had different challenges: Norris faced a lot of criticism online in the past months, being called derogatory nicknames and such, while Bianca encountered a challenging start, stalling on the grid and falling to the back during Race 1. However, they both showcased how determination can make a difference over the years or in a single weekend.

The lesson from both of these drivers goes beyond motorsport. It's an example of perseverance and resilience. Just as Norris and Bustamante refused to give up in the face of adversity, people in any other field can draw inspiration from their determination.

Whether you're working on a new creative project, going for another run this morning, trying to grow your social media platform, or applying for a new job position, the key is to keep pushing forward! Like Norris, who waited six years for his first win and remained steadfast in his commitment to McLaren, resisting offers from other teams. And like Bianca, who admitted, “I made a mistake,” and then went on to another race to secure second place!

Success often requires persistence, dedication, self-awareness, and knowing your self-worth. So, whatever you're doing, keep going—the rewards will reveal themselves in due time. You've got this!

1. Network like crazy! It's no secret that many jobs in the industry are within the hidden market. They may only be posted on a hiring manager's LinkedIn profile, on company websites, or not showcased anywhere. Be active on LinkedIn, attend local events, engage in conversations, and build genuine connections. That will definitely work out for you in the long run.

2. Ask for advice! We know how intimidating it can be, but if you try, you'll see how many people are actually ready to help you if you're brave enough to ask for it.

3. Think broader. If you want your first job in motorsport to be with your favorite team at MotoGP or F1, we have some sad news for you — it's not impossible, but it rarely happens. Explore other opportunities: start with your local circuit or in a news company, and gain some connections and experience first. By the way, you can check local companies within your country on our website here.

4. Don't wait for the opportunity to drop on you. Grab it yourself. Do you really like the company but they don't have an open position at the moment? That's okay! Just drop an email, shortly telling them about yourself, your passion, and your willingness to contribute to their company! You never know when they are looking for someone, and it's better to be there before anyone else!

5. Volunteer if you can. Many of those things, like experience and connections, will be gained through volunteering. It is also a good way to show your passion for the industry! Obviously, being able to volunteer and not work for some time is a big privilege. But if you can, definitely take on this opportunity!

6. Create your own opportunities! Many people today are using social media as a way to promote their knowledge and interest in the industry. It's not an easy way through… However, making reels on Instagram or posts on LinkedIn can help you not only develop your skills but also gain an audience that could help you get through some doors within the industry.

7. Know your worth and don't give up. You will receive many rejections along the way, and that’s okay! You have to understand your skills and position like nobody else. What kind of experience do you have (or don’t have)? Do you need some specific permits or a sponsorship contract? Knowing your situation better will

   allow you to focus more on areas that need to be showcased or improved! You've got it!

There are many ways to make money, but it seems that the cake always ends up on the same plates. Old-school mentality and numerous barriers to entry make it challenging for newcomers. For this reason, the only viable ways to earn some cash are as follows:

1. Selling to the outside motorsport world: Bringing the motorsport environment to users and followers outside the industry, reaching the masses. Those who love motorsport and want to be part of it by experiencing the same thrills.

2. Being a motorsport insider: Having worked in the industry for some time and understanding how it operates, to later offer services that teams and companies need. These services may not be groundbreaking, but they can help solve problems, save money, speed up processes, or enhance vehicle performance. While these solutions may seem obvious, the significant barriers to entry, coupled with established companies dominating the market, make it difficult for newcomers to break in, even if things go well.

The motorsport industry has operated in much the same way for a long time. It relies heavily on hands-on work and interpersonal relationships. Another area for improvement is automotive systems and jobs that can be performed remotely and digitally, although such opportunities are currently limited. We have witnessed some operations, such as data control, TV production, and timing, being managed from home, but the need for a physical presence remains prevalent.

We also see deals based on sponsorships, so that means you get the job only if you sponsor the team or the company/championship. You really need to make your numbers to make it worth it. This also means that it could be hard to offer competitive prices if you need to cover the sponsorship first.

What a tumultuous time it has been, hasn't it? With top drivers and riders left without a ride for next year, and all within the same year, the landscape is indeed unpredictable. Only the major players seem to have secured their positions. However, there are still key pieces in play that could lead to significant movements in both championships.

And what about the recent move by Liberty Media to become the owner of major racing championships? Surprisingly, there has been no word from antitrust authorities. Could MotoGP be following in the footsteps of F1, given the significant transformation it has undergone? It seems that the aim is to create even greater anticipation among fans in order to attract more viewers. Let's see how it unfolds
